Really enjoyed playing, but the turtle is a little buggy, sometimes getting stuck on top of the player making you have to quit and restart the game. Might want to add a check that if the player and the turtle have the same position, bump the player to one of the spots next to the turtle that is free for the player to move onto. It might cause a puzzle to break to an easier position, but better than locking the game. Also, is it intentional that the turtle can't enter some rooms? I was able to get him all over the place, but some rooms he wouldn't go into and this breaks the immersion a little imo. If that is to prevent deadlocks or something, maybe a "No turtles." sign or something next to the door that the turtle can't enter would be helpful. I'll try and beat the game again later. Thanks for an interesting puzzle game. Also, the graphics do look a bit better now.

Thanks for playing, That bug was something that showed up in an earlier version and I managed to fix it then, I didn't know it was even possible anymore to do it, I will look into it. A "No Turtles" sign might be a good idea. Thanks for the feedback!

Really enjoyed this game! An interesting variation of a classic movement pattern. You managed to pack a lot of adventure in a tiny world, with varied landscapes, puzzles and encounters. Kudos to you! It also looks pretty good. I am usually not a fan of mixing pixel sizes, but it works well here and helps differentiate characters and landscapes.

Thank you! I was getting some criticism about mixing pixel sizes (8x8 environment and 16x16 characters) so I was wondering what I could possibly do to fix it, perhaps there is some good method of blending it better.

I was inspired by 2048 initially and it just kind of morphed into an adventure game, I tried using environmental storytelling where I split areas into separate parts to tease future content/create foreshadowing and make the player retrace across old areas. Though I tried to be as non-intrusive as possible in terms of storytelling it was the aspect I put the most effort in to make it all fit together, but I'm thinking it would be good to add a short animation when you first enter the area with the city gate with the hero/king with his back turned entering the open gate which closes behind him.

It's a sad game a bit... :(

But I managed to beat it in one life, it was good to play!
