Kaiju Apocalypse
Giant Crabs have invaded Japan, rain down orbital and conventional weaponry to obliterate all enemies!
For gameplay instructions read through the "instructions" in the main menu.
The current iteration of this game was made for MechJam IV. If you are playing from the jam I'd like to point out that it's the second mission that was made for this jam as the tutorial doesn't include mechs. For this jam I have completely changed all UI and menu art as well as created a better (I hope) main menu. I have also made using the weapons more readable by adding a cooldown bar. As for the mechs I have created 2 variants, one Tin-can mech deployable through the weapon bar and the second a more traditionally designed mech, though you need to survive for 2 minutes before it is activated and joins the battle. For optional themes I have "Rogue", I didn't really have time to do everything I wanted with this but at least made it so that the giant mech's attacks destroys even your own side, making it almost more dangerous than the monsters.
Originally made for Kaiju-Jam 2, only what is now the tutorial mission was completed for this jam.

Love this!
Super polished and I love the graphical style and music.
The gameplay is simple and fun, and I can easily imagine some interesting strategy and depth to the mechanics once you flesh it out more - particularly if you added more weapon variety, limited resources, more enemies etc.
Fits the secondary themes super well too! :)
